Thank you so very much, Ana, for taking the time to answer a few questions about your etsy business: http://shenevski.etsy.com
Please take a moment to visit this great shop!
Q. How did you hear about Etsy?
A. I have heard about Etsy about 3 years ago while browsing the internet for hand-knitted patterns. I saw it was a site for selling handmade items and even though I have been knitting for more than 20 years I did not get interested in starting a shop.
Q. What made you decide to sell on Etsy?
A. I made my account several months before my first item being listed. I was just looking at other people's creations. The reason I decided to list was that I kept creating more and more crocheted and knitted garments and they just were hanging in my wardrobes. I was knitting just for the sake of it. So, I thought I could show my things in Etsy and some people might like them.
Q. How did you originally get into hand-knitted and crocheted business?
A. My mom showed me the knitting and crocheting techniques when I was about 9 years old. Since then I have been knitting things only for myself or other close relatives, but never for selling. Here in Etsy I made my first attempt to sell. I'm really inexperienced in running this kind of business.
Q. What motivates and inspires you to create?
A. The first incentive for me to create is the love of knitting/crocheting. This has been my biggest hobby since childhood. Now, the new techniques, new pattern, new types of clothing, other peoples' creations really motivate me to experience and create. And the most satisfying thing is to see that people like my creations and are willing to spend their money for hand-knitted/crocheted clothes. With every sale I feel the need to start a new and more interesting project.
Q. What are your interests outside etsy?
A. I would love to learn photography.
Most of the time I spend with my two kids - daughter Stefka (7 years) and son Mario (4 years).
Thank you very much, Ana, for this wonderful interview!
