Thank you very much, Amélie for taking the time to answer a few questions about your etsy business: To Scarborough Fair http://ToScarboroughFair.etsy.com Please visit this amazing pet boutique where you can find great hats for a very special cat(s) in your life! As Amélie points out in her shop announcement: "Caution! Approach with humor." :-)
Q. How did you hear about Etsy?
A. I was visiting some craft blogs and I saw they had Etsy shops. I was really smitten with the talent, variety and creativity of the artists on Etsy.
Q. What made you decide to sell on Etsy?
A. I have always had an artistic talent, I studied = painting and, coming to the USA, from Europe, I was really impressed by the craft stores and the creative possibilities they inspire.
Q. How did you originally get into cat hat fashion and which materials do you use to create your pieces?
A. I am a perfectionist, and although I started to think Etsy is a great place for me to open a shop, I kept on postponing, because I was always feeling I was not ready. I wanted to be really original and find a less covered niche, and one day I saw on the Alchemy somebody asking for a cat costume. Since I love animals, I thought that might be a good way to start channeling my creativity in a new, humorous and exciting direction, and do something that I am excited about, at the present moment. I started creating lightweight pieces for cats, since they are more sensitive then dogs, and are more reluctant to wear dog pieces.
Q. What and who motivates and inspires you to create?
A. Pixie, my adorable and expressive cat really inspires me.
Q. What is the name of this gorgeous cat model in your pictures?
A. My international super model's name is Pixie and she is a real pixie, by the real definition of the word :)
Q. How many pets do you have?
A. Pixie is the only pet.
Q. What is your best advice for new Etsy sellers?
A. Do what you are really passionate about, read, research and promote. Try to be the best you can be in your area.
Thank you very much, Amélie.
